Recently we ripped out the carpet upstairs (including the stairs) and had it all replaced with solid vinyl flooring. To save some money, we removed the carpets, staples, and nail strips ourselves, and leveled one spot. We then had contractors lay the new floor. Usually we use engineered or solid wood, but with a little one, we decided to go with something waterproof. We had it installed as one continuous floor covering 3 rooms with closets, a bathroom, and the stairs. Because it is 100% waterproof we used it for the bathroom floor as well. The existing tile was ripped out when we had the bathroom just before this floor job.
