Google Scholar Citations

Posted on August 17, 2018July 19, 2021 by Joe Del Rocco

If you use Google Scholar to provide your references, double check them to make sure they are correct. It can be tempting to copy/paste the citations directly in a crunch. But nothing is more embarrasing/insulting/damaging than misrepresenting an author and their work. At the time of writing this post, here is what the citation information…

Reptile World Serpentarium

Posted on August 2, 2018May 5, 2024 by Joe Del Rocco

Today we visited the Reptile World Serpentarium in Kissimmee, Florida, which has been in the area since the early 70s. They have a very large collection of poisonous snakes, and are one of the leading suppliers of snake venom to universities, companies, and organizations producing antidotes. Posted on July 30, 2018July 19, 2021 by Joe Del Rocco

Saw a huge grasshopper while walking my dog today. Must be a grasshopper because it is solitary. Though I saw a few more throughout the week… so maybe it was gregarious?

The Mayor at Loch Haven Park

Posted on July 27, 2018May 5, 2024 by Joe Del Rocco

“The Mayor” is a very beautiful, very large, and very old Southern Live Oak near the Mennello Museum of American Art at Loch Haven Park, home to the Orlando Science Center. Both servers are highly active in the Central Florida area.   Here’s a video of people playing around Lake Eola at night when Pokemon…

This is a true story. Yesterday I brought a leftovers lunch in a rectangular glassware container that we have owned/used for years. We’ve never had any problems with it, or any others like it. Up until today I actually preferred this container over plastic containers. That is no longer the case. I heated up my…

My Office Cubicle These Days

Posted on May 31, 2018July 19, 2021 by Joe Del Rocco

My cubical in the Design Lab at IST at UCF… because, as General Sherman said, PhDs are hell. I decorated it with abandoned materials found in the hall from a previous project with PEO STRI by Dr. Charlie Hughes and his SREAL Lab.
