USS Midway Museum

Posted on August 18, 2018September 23, 2018 by Joe Del Rocco

The USS Midway aircraft carrier was opened to the public in 2004 as a wet-docked military museum in the San Diego Bay. It was the longest serving aircraft carrier of the 20th century (1945-1992) with a complement of 4000+ men and women. Today, hundreds of volunteers (many of them retired military) keep it in good shape and share their experiences with the public. The museum is open year-round, offers all kinds of educational events and ceremonies for enlisted and retired military, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is definitely worth visiting.
